Lake Mburo Travel
Lake Mburo National Park is located in Mbarara district (3.5 hours drive fro kampala.). It harbours vatious species of mammals, including zebras, buffaloes, impala and birds which comprise of bill storks and are not found anywhere else in the country. Its beautifully scraped landscape with rolling grassy hills and idyllic lake shore has a varied mosaic of habitats forest galleries, seasonal and permanent swamps and the park is rich in acacia wood valleys which all support a wealth of wildlife.
The park, only 260 sq. km is the smallest of the Uganda’s savanna National Parks but it's mosaic habitat, dry hillside, rocky outcrops, bushes thickets, open and wooded savanna forests, lakes and swamps are home to a surprising diversity of plants and animals. Activities: Bird watching is the dominant activity in the National Park, followed by forest walks (exploring Rubanga forest), boat trips, fishing, and salt licks. The park also has accomodation facilities, in tents and at public camp sites. How to get there: Lake Mburo National Park is found in Mbarara district, by taking a 3.5 hours drive from Kampala on Mbarara Kampala highway, turn left at 13 km, Akageti, past Lyantonde, this will bring you to Sanga gate. It is 13 km from Sanga trading center of Sanga gate, 5 km from the main road to Nshara gate and about 20 minutes drive from Rwonyo Park Head Quarters.
